Vopak is the world’s largest independent tank storage provider, specialising in the storage and handling of liquid chemicals, gases and oil products. It operates 83 terminals with a combined storage capacity in excess of 29 million m³ in 31 countries strategically located along major shipping routes.
South Africa is fast becoming a net importer of petroleum products and has a critical shortage of storage for importing these products. To this end, Reatile is partnering with Vopak to develop several new petroleum storage terminals:

• Expansion of the existing Vopak terminal in Durban to also incorporate substantial fuel storage capacity;
• Expansion of the existing Vopak terminal in Durban to also incorporate substantial fuel storage capacity;
• A new multi-purpose terminal in Richards Bay which will include import storage for LPG, chemicals storage and fuels storage.
